The summer months are busy for the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce. Balancing events, ribbon cuttings and welcoming new members are tall tasks, but they are ones that Executive Director Barbie Haeck is up to.
Haeck joined the KOAL newsroom to preview the Chamber’s upcoming June luncheon, as well as discussing the benefits of joining the Chamber of Commerce.
As is tradition, June’s luncheon will feature a guest speaker; with this rendition of the event having Shanny Wilson, Carbon County economic development and tourism director. “And we’ve had Shannie before to give us updates about what’s happening,” said Haeck. “And we never quite seem to have enough time to talk about everything. So we gave her a little more time, so we only have two spotlights.”
Despite only having two spotlights, the quality therein has not dropped, with the Chamber honoring Clean Cut Roofing and Siding and Carbon Events and Recreation. “Kourtney Cox is going to join us and talk about what they have going on for the Fourth of July celebration.”
Registration for the event is open, with RSVPs requested by June 13. You can register by phone at 435-637-2788 or by visiting carboncountychamber.net. In addition to luncheon registration, businesses can also join the CCCC through the website.
Haeck also took the time to explain what she sees as the most significant benefit to joining the Chamber: “It’s the networking opportunities, for sure. At the last luncheon, we had 85 people. That’s a huge opportunity. That’s 85 local business people that you can connect with.”
In closing, Haeck stated,” If you have any questions about the Chamber, I would love to talk to you about it. So please give me a call.”
The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce’s June luncheon will be held on Thursday, June 19, at Utah State University Eastern. For more information on the Chamber, call 435-637-2788 or visit carboncountychamber.net.
