Ora LaRee Rasmussen, 81, passed away on June 6, 2025 in Price, Utah. LaRee will be deeply missed by her friends and loved ones.

LaRee was born on August 6, 1943, to Frank LaMont and Mary Ora Clement Mills. She was raised in Fairview, Utah alongside her seven siblings. A common theme of the era she grew up in was “Use it up. Wear it out. Make it do, or do without.” This shaped LaRee’s personal convictions about living simply and not cutting corners in her work.

After graduating from North Sanpete High School, she moved to the Salt Lake area and began working. On August 17, 1969, she married Richard Rasmussen in Fairview, Utah. Together they made a home in Murray, Utah. LaRee and Richard enjoyed vacationing and often brought back unique paintings as keepsakes from their travels. Richard passed away in 1995, following a battle with cancer.

Throughout her life, she worked for several companies and held a variety of positions. After her retirement, she volunteered for many years at her local library.

LaRee had a zesty personality. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, and was particular about how things were done. She never met a person that she couldn’t verbally “whip into shape.” Those who were lucky enough to get to know her, found she showed love alongside her critiques.

LaRee had a special friendship with her younger brother, Don. The two of them looked out for each other. She enjoyed taking vacations and making memories with Don, Brenda, and the crew.

LaRee also enjoyed long walks, British comedies, reading mystery novels, watching golf on Sundays, knitting scarves, and crocheting Afghans. LaRee was also fond of frog figurines. She amassed quite the collection through the years. She kept a tidy home and a beautiful yard.

Although LaRee never had children of her own, she developed strong connections with her nieces and nephews, and later her great-nieces and nephews. She liked gathering with family for potluck meals and lots of gabbing. We are all going to miss LaRee and her verbal zingers. We are looking forward to the time we are reunited and LaRee can “set us straight” again.

She is survived by her siblings, Lynn (Janet) Mills of Littlefield, Nevada, Lola Pierce of Price, Utah, Don (Brenda) Mills of West Valley City, Utah; and sisters-in-law, Susan Mills of West Valley City, Utah, NormaJean Mills of Seattle, Washington.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Rasmussen; siblings, Dell Mills, Monte (Luana) Mills, Rex Mills, Ned Mills; and brother-in-law, Larry Pierce.
