With the Carbon Emery Children’s Justice Center & Family Support Center’s annual golf fundraiser rapidly approaching on June 21, the center is doubling the fun with a dinner and concert following the tournament. Alexis Sandoval and Casey Wilson from the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center board joined the KOAL newsroom to preview the event and share what’s in store for attendees.
“The concert’s amazing,” opened Wilson. “The concert is being put on with a band called Natural Causes. And so if you’re familiar with that band, they’ve played here before and get great support and turnout. They’re gonna be playing on Saturday, June 21, at 6 p.m. at the Carbon County Events Center, and it is a blast when we go out and have these guys here.”
Wilson continued previewing some of the other activities that will be present at the concert. “We’ll also be doing prize drawings with some amazing items. We have live auctions with all the proceeds being donated to the Children’s Justice Center and the Family Support Center, and you couldn’t pick a better cause.”
Jumping in, Sandoval shared ticketing information for the fundraiser,” They’re gonna cost $35 for adults and $20 for kids 12 and under. You can get them at the Children’s Justice Center, Real Estate Titans or Driggs Mortgage. If you have questions, you can call any of those companies, and they can guide you into where to pick them up.”
The event will also feature live and silent auctions alongside several opportunity drawings.” We got some amazing stuff, and by the way, all of the things we are giving away both in our auction and in our prize drawings were donated by the fabulous businesses here in Carbon and Emery County. In the auction, we have three guns that we’re going to auction off and we know everybody loves their guns. We have hunting gear that Alaska Guide Creations donated. We’ve got Gravel donated by Scamp Excavating, and we can’t go through the entire list because it’s so big, but thanks to everybody who donated.”
Wilson continued,” And then with our prize drawing. We’ve got some great things as well. We’ve got everything from a five-cubic foot freezer, a Minky coat or blanket, $250 gift cards to Sutherland’s, we’ve got little giant ladders, we got a really awesome bronze golf statue and just so much more. It’s worth getting tickets for because it’s a really cool event for a great cause.”
Tickets for the drawing cost $5 for a single ticket or $25 for a book of tickets.
Speaking on a personal level, Wilson shared what excites him most about the fundraiser,” I’m most excited about just having an opportunity for the community to come and rally around the Children’s Justice Center and learn a little bit about what they’re about and all the great things they do in the community.”
Sandoval added to this, stating,” Food. Get Your Smoke On is going to be there, and they’re amazing. But also what Casey said.”
In closing, Wilson shared,” This is intended to raise money for the Carbon Emery Children’s Justice and Family Support Centers. Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for kids. We have drawings and auctions going on, and there will be a great door prize with the Casablanca room and two rounds of golf. And I think the community should come out and support and have a good time with us because it’s going to be a blast.”
The Carbon Emery Children’s Justice Center & Family Support Center Dinner and Concert will take place on Saturday, June 21, starting at 6 p.m. in the Carbon County Events Center. Tickets are available at the Children’s Justice Center, Real Estate Titans or Driggs Mortgage.
