On June 18 and 19, the Spartan Center will open its doors to young girls in the third through ninth grades for the Camp Emery Girls basketball camp.

The camp is a fundraiser to help the Lady Spartans travel to the Juab Tournament at the end of the month.

Emery coach Jon Faimalo was a recent guest on KOAL’s Drive Time Sports to talk about the upcoming camp and what the money raised will go towards.

“It’s a little bit of a fundraiser that we use for the Juab Tournament that we go to the following week, so that’s part of it, but I think it’s part about giving back to these young kids and allowing our team to teach them some things about some basic fundamentals that they’ll need to hopefully give them a base and get them excited about basketball.”

The camp begins on June 18 and will run for two days, starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 11:00 a.m.
