Our beloved mother, grandmother, “Nan”, sister, and aunt, Cherie Lynn Evans Collins, age 75, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Cherie was born on April 21, 1950, in Standardville, Utah, to Elmer and Margaret Evans. From an early age, she carried a deep sense of family, unwavering strength, and a kind spirit that would define her life.
A proud graduate of Jordan High School in 1968, Cherie was a member of the Senior Choir and embraced her Beetdigger roots with pride, carrying that school spirit with her always.
On April 23, 1971, she married Blaine Roland Collins, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in love, and lasting memories. Cherie worked for Grand Central/Fred Meyer for many years, where she built treasured friendships and touched countless lives with her warmth, and compassion.
Above all, Cherie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted and loving mother to her only son, Corey Glen Collins, and her heart overflowed with pride and joy as “Nan” to her four beautiful grandchildren and one precious great grandbaby, who were truly the lights of her life.
Cherie and Blaine shared many wonderful years as snowbirds in Scofield, where they enjoyed time with family and friends. Later, they retired in Mesquite, Nevada, continuing to make the most of every season.
Cherie found joy in both adventure and simplicity. She loved snowmobiling, boating, water skiing, golfing, and her bowling league. She also found great happiness in life’s quieter moments, crafting, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and reading every Danielle Steel book she could get her hands on.
Cherie is survived by her son, Corey (Taunya) Collins; her grandchildren, Tayler (Cruz) Vigil, Jake Collins, Sadie Collins, Aubrey Bukovinsky; and her great-granddaughter, Blair Lynn Vigil. She is also survived by her siblings, Larry (Corrine) Evans, Liz Dotson, and Mary (Allen) Fratto; along with many loving nieces, nephews, dear friends, and her beloved dog, Scout.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Margaret Evans; her husband, Blaine Collins; her sister, Marlene; and her niece, Tammy.
Cherie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. Her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her. Though her absence will be deeply felt, her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who love her.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff of Copper Creek and Ovation Hospice for their tender care and support throughout this past year.
