Kolleen Charlesworth Johnson, age 85, passed away on June 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 12, 1940, in Price, Utah to Grant and Mary LaRue Jewkes Charlesworth.
She married the love of her life, Hal Johnson on June 29, 1999, in Castle Dale, Utah by shotgun wedding from her children just to make sure she did not run away. She was a devoted, kind, loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
In her earlier years, she always gave her best at any job that she had. A few of those jobs included, school bus driver, construction worker, bambi slayer, truck driver, security guard, bar tender, and doing one of her favorite jobs helping out on the farm. She cared for the many animals; sometimes which she seemed to love more then her children at times. She would do anything to save a wounded or starving animal.
She always handled disappointments with humor and tried to find the best in every situation. In her later years, she was able to enjoy one of her true passions, riding her horse, Sassy on the desert and mountains.
Kolleen is survived by her loving husband, Hal Johnson of Joe’s Valley, Utah; her children, Michelle (Steve) Scovill of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Loye Tucker of Castle Dale, Utah; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Patsy Nielsen of East Carbon, Utah.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Mary LaRue Jewkes Charlesworth; her son, Grant Shelton; son-in-law, Philip Bell; and great-grandson, Knixon Sorensen.
The family would like to give our appreciation to all of our loved friends and to all those who knew Grandma and to the staff at Mitchell Funeral Home for the care they have shown our family at this time.
