Following a stellar season-opening performance from the Bombshell Flowers, Price City Culture Connection looks to keep the good times rolling as they welcome Andrew Wiscombe and Debra Fotheringham on Thursday, June 19.
Price City Council member Layne Miller joined the KOAL newsroom to preview this and other upcoming Culture Connection events.
Reflecting on the Bombshell Flowers performance from a week prior, Miller shared,” They were high energy. They’re probably a younger group’s favorite. But we have 150 people who show up for Culture Connection all the time, and they love their music and they love these guys. Lots of energy and a good connection between the group and the audience. It was fun.”
Moving from the past and into the future, Miller previewed what can be expected from Wiscombe and Fotheringham,” These are two separate artists who have come together to perform in Price, Utah. They both have lots of experience. Deborah has been singing and writing music for years. Both have lots of experience, so getting them to come together and come to Price is rare. I oughta mentioned that Andrew is a former sniper. Now, I’m not sure how that’s gonna tie into his music, but we’ll have to see.”
Emphasizing folk music, Miller expressed how this is ideal music for Culture Connection,” It’s relaxing and easy to listen to. It fits so well in the music in the park … Folk music is perfect for the park. Make sure you bring your chairs where the foot kicks up so you can layback and enjoy some softer, relaxing, really fun music.”
Looking even further ahead, Miller gave a sneak peek at what lies ahead in next week’s Culture Connection concert,” Next week for Culture Connection is a group called Cold Blue Revival, and they’re a 70s cover band. And you know, I know lots of people who love 70s music.”
In closing, Miller stated,” Come and join us. Expect to have a good time. Come be with your friends. You know, this interaction between the folks that are there. We have a huge group that has bonded together because of being in the park listening to music. They become good friends, and you can see it when everybody comes up. This has turned into a really important part of what Price City does.”
Price City welcomes Andrew Wiscombe and Debra Fotheringham on Thursday, June 19, starting at 7 p.m. in Washington Park. More information on this and other events is available on pricecityutah.com or the city’s Facebook page.
