With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Clifford L. Axelsen, affectionately known as Pat, who departed this life on June 18, 2025. Born on August 24,1945, to Sheldon and Clara Axelsen, Pat lived a life marked by dedication, resilience, and an unwavering love for his family.
To know Pat was to know the meaning of hard work. He was the hardest working man we have ever met—steadfast, tireless, and dependable in every aspect of life. His work ethic was unmatched, but it was his role as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend that defined him most.
Pat’s love for his family was deep and immeasurable. Everything he did, he did for those he loved. His quiet strength, his warm presence, and the lessons he passed down through his actions will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, love, and selflessness. Though words cannot fully capture the impact he had on our lives, we will carry his memory with us always.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Trudy, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Together they raised a beautiful family that was the center of his world: Joe (LuLu), Tina (Jim), Charlie, Bill (Megan), John (Taylor), Paula (Chet), and Tammie (Mike) and his niece, Debbie that he loved like his own.
Pat was a proud grandfather to 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren—with one more great (hopefully BOY) on the way, soon to make his appearance. His legacy lives on in each of them—in their strength, their kindness, and the way they love one another.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Pat’s life was full of purpose and surrounded by love. He leaves behind not just memories, but a blueprint of what it means to be loyal, hardworking, and deeply devoted.
Pat was preceded in death by his father, Sheldon; mother, Clara; brothers, DeLyle and Gary; his Gramps who taught him to be that man that he was; his grandma, Lola; his son-in-law, Chris Hutchings; his granddaughter, Sabreena; and his lifelong best friend, Gene Fossat—the kind of friend every man hopes to find in life.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the compassionate nurses and aides at Elevate Home Health and Hospice, especially, Amber, Michelle, Natasha, and Gabby for their exceptional care and kindness during Pat’s final months. We are also incredibly thankful to everyone at Good Life Assisted Living for providing him with comfort, dignity, and friendship in
his last chapter. A special thanks to Mitchell Funeral Home, especially, Tanner, for all your care and support during this time.
