On Thursday, the 2025 softball season’s All-State list was released, and four Emery student-athletes were honored.  Senior Kalle Lake and sophomore Elli Stoker received first-team honors. Kali Jensen, a senior, earned second-team honors, and senior Katelyn Nielson collected an Honorable Mention.

The Lady Spartans finished the regular season with a 22-13 overall mark and a 12-2 record in Region 12. Emery powered through the first two rounds with wins against Canyon View and South Summit. In the quarterfinals, they ran into their nemesis, the Grantsville Cowboys, who handed them their first loss, dropping them into the one-loss bracket, where they fought their way back with wins against South Summit again. Morgan to earn a berth in the championship game against Grantsville, who ended the Lady Spartans’ season by the score of 11-1.

Coaches across the state vote on the players, and the list of the top players in each classification is compiled annually.

Lake earned first-team honors this season for her work in the circle, going 173 innings with a 2.99 earned run average, collecting a 14-6 record with 173 strikeouts. Offensively, she was a force too, ending the season with a .314 batting average, 27 hits, 11 RBIs, three doubles, and one triple. In early April, she put together back-to-back wins over Richfield and Juab, giving up two hits and one earned run, striking out 16. Lake earned a second-team honor for her junior season.

Stoker was the lone sophomore to earn a first-team nod in 3A. She was electric at the plate with a .441 batting average, collecting 45 hits, 21 RBIs, 11 doubles, and three home runs. Her big game this season came against Carbon in Castle Dale, going 2-4 with three RBIs in the 9-3 win. After her sophomore campaign, Stoker will have two more years of representing the black and gold.

Jensen received a second-team nod. A three-sport athlete, she earned Academic All-State nods this year in volleyball, basketball, and softball, an All-State second-team honor, and an Honorable Mention in volleyball. Jensen had a .337 batting average with 34 hits, scoring 25 runs with 15 RBIs and a home run. In the win over San Juan on the road, Jensen was 4-4, scoring three runs with five RBIs. Jensen earned a second-team honor for her junior season. Emery High School also awarded her the Female Academic Athlete of the Year.

Nielson contributed to three different sports at Emery, earning Academic All-State nods in volleyball, basketball, and softball. She also collected All-State hardware with first-team honors for basketball and second-team honors for volleyball. For softball this season, she was given an Honorable Mention for her senior campaign, where she earned a .350 batting average, collecting 35 hits, 26 runs, and 33 RBIs. She had 13 doubles, three triples, and five home runs at the plate. One of her most significant moments this season came in the April 25 contest in Manti, where she went 4-4 with four RBIs and scored a pair of runs in the 7-1 win.  Emery High School also awarded her the Female  Athlete of the Year. She earned a first-team nod for softball in her junior year.

Hayden Bytheway of Grantsville was named the 3A MVP while teammate Kira Hart took home the title of playoff MVP.
