Closing out the month in style, Helper Saturday Vibes returns on Saturday, June 28, with a celebration centered around dark skies and small businesses. Sydney Ho from the vibes team joined the KOAL newsroom to preview the event and share what attendees might be in store for.
Opening our conversation, Ho explained what a dark skies event entails,” for dark skies, we turn off all the lights and make it so you can see the beautiful dark sky that we have the privilege of being able to see in our area.”
Also honored at the event are the many small businesses within the Castle Country.” Small businesses are the foundation of our area, and being able to support them is huge for us. Helper Vibes is very proud of being the kind of event where you can incubate and start a new business. Those businesses usually start as small businesses, so being able to support them is awesome.”
As is tradition at Helper Vibes, two bands will perform at the event. Kicking things off at 5 p.m. will be Misi and Richy, bringing a blend of original and cover music. Then, at 8 p.m., community favorite Dale’s House takes the stage. “Sometimes everybody needs a little bit of something new, and we’re going to bring you that this Saturday along with a favorite, Dale’s House.”
Bar Manager Shayla Olson continues to bring the heat with the event’s drink options, with this event featuring a cosmic-themed specialty drink. “We have a cosmic blue margarita for you: dragon fruit juice, blue curaçao, house-made margarita, and some star fruit on top.” Ho added,” after taste-testing all of them for the season, the cosmic blue margarita is my second favorite.”
The vendor selection at the event will feature both returning and new booths from prior Vibes gatherings: ” We’ll have some familiar faces like El Sartan in the Mambo truck, but we also had a newcomer last week called Mama D’s that will be coming back this week as well, doing some classics like Hot Dogs, Chili Dogs and Frito pie.”
