Our father, grandfather, uncle, and brother, Curtis Jones, age 67, born on May 23, 1958, passed away unexpectedly at home on July 2, 2025.

Curtis was the third of six children born to Duane and Erma Lou (McMullin) Jones, he grew up on his family farm in Elmo. He ended up settling in Huntington, Utah with his wife, Jimie Dawn (Majors) Jones, where they raised two daughters.

Curtis was a coal miner most of his life and worked very hard to provide for his family. While coal mining at Genwal Coal Company he worked every Saturday for two years. He always wanted to give his kids everything they wanted and needed growing up. He gave them many opportunities in their young lives to participate in a range of events such as horse riding, gymnastics, dance, piano, and many other things.

Throughout his life he enjoyed many different hobbies including: horseback riding, leatherwork, golf, shooting guns, hunting, coin collecting, watching football, listening to classic rock music, and working on his trucks and cars. He took immense pride in his possessions and in everything he did. This especially showed in how well he kept his yard and his cars.

The family would like to thank the Emery County Sheriff’s office and Mitchell Funeral Home for their helpfulness and kindness during this time.

Curtis is survived by his daughters and grandchildren, KC Jo, Jeriden, and Journey West of Central, UT and Kyla (Nicholas), Daxtyn, and Dawsyn Madrigal of Price, UT; and his four siblings, Sherrie (Mark) Chapman of Rock Springs, WY, Dennis (Debbie) Jones of Elmo, UT, Stacey (Derry) Jewkes of Ferron, UT, and Kim (LaDawn) Jones of Orem, UT.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bart Jones of Elmo, UT; and his parents, Erma Lou and Duane Jones of Elmo, UT.
