Lady Spartan senior Addy Guymon will continue her track and field career in Provo as she has committed to Brigham Young University after one more season for Emery.

Guymon made a name for herself statewide, starting with the Pineview Invitational in March by setting a state record in the 3200 meters with her time of 10:26.15. At the same meet, she would go on to set Emery High records in the 800 and 1600-meter races as well.

She also impressed at the BYU Invitational in May, taking second in the 3200 with a time of 10:32.75, just four seconds off of first place. She followed that up with a third-place finish in the 1600 behind Jane Hendengren of Timpview, who committed to BYU in 2024 and will begin competing for the Cougars this upcoming season.

Guymon was also part of the Lady Spartan Region 12 and State Championship 4×400 team. She was also a significant contributor to Emery’s second-place finish in the State Cross Country Championships, earning a fourth-place finish.

In April, Guymon was named one of Deseret News’ Athletes of the Week for week 36, and she was also honored as the Eastern Utah Community Credit Union Athlete of the week.

Congratulations to Addy, and we look forward to watching her help the Spartans for one more season.
