Utah State University Eastern has announced the promotion of Mary Hart to Associate Athletic Director, marking a significant milestone in her six-year tenure with the institution’s athletic department.
A native of Harrisburg, North Carolina, Hart first joined USU Eastern as a graduate assistant after earning her bachelor’s degree from Limestone University. She later completed her master’s degree at Utah State University, laying the foundation for her growing career in collegiate athletics administration.
Since arriving at USU Eastern, Hart has held various key roles within the department. Most recently, she oversaw National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) eligibility and compliance, as well as game management operations. Her attention to detail and leadership in those areas have been instrumental in the department’s smooth operations and adherence to national standards.
“Mary has been a cornerstone of our department for years, and promoting her to Associate Athletic Director is both a recognition of her past excellence and a strategic move for our future. Her dedication, professionalism, and ability to lead behind the scenes have made every team here better. I have no doubt she will thrive in this new role and continue to elevate the standard for USU Eastern Athletics,” said Jess Brinkerhoff, Athletic Director.
In her new position as Associate Athletic Director, Hart will continue her work in compliance and eligibility, while also stepping into the role of Sports Information Director. Her expanded responsibilities will include managing media relations, athletic communications, and further supporting the department’s strategic goals.
“I’m incredibly excited and grateful for this new role,” said Hart. “Being part of this athletic department over the years has been a rewarding experience, and I’m even more thrilled to take on a more active role. I look forward to working closely with Jess to continue building and improving the program. Jess has done an outstanding job since stepping in as athletic director, and I believe that together, we can take the department to even greater heights.”
Hart’s promotion reflects USU Eastern’s ongoing commitment to cultivating leadership from within and highlights the impact of strong, consistent contributions to the success of its athletic programs
