Price City is preparing for its biggest event of the summer with the 2025 International Days Celebration. Running from July 23 to July 26, the city celebration features fun for all ages.

Price City council member Tanner Richardson joined the KOAL newsroom to discuss the behind-the-scenes planning of the event, as well as preview what’s in store for attendees.

“International Days have been around for many years. But there is a committee with a lot of community members, as well as employees of Price City,” explained Richardson of the planning process. “We meet once a month – it started about March of this year – go over all the festivities and planning. There are a lot of community members who take on responsibilities for certain events. But we meet, hammer out all the details and make sure everything is good to go.”

One of the main draws to International Days each year is the carnival, featuring rides and entertainment for everyone to enjoy. “It’s called City of Fun. That’s the carnival company Price City has used for years. But it is honestly a nightmare to try and find another carnival. We do everything we can as a city to make it so they’re able to come. Usually, International Days is held on the last weekend of July; this year, it happened to be on Pioneer Day because, well, that’s the only weekend the carnival could come to Price. So, we do everything we can to bring the carnival down here because the kids love it, and families love it. “

Moving to the opening ceremonies, which will be held on Thursday, July 24, Richardson shared what can be expected from the kickoff: “They start at 7 p.m. We’re going to have the American Legion over here doing the flag ceremony. They always do a terrific job doing that. It’s just a great time.”

Richardson also discussed the annual Kids Parade, which takes place on Friday, July 25 at 9:45 a.m. “That’s always a blast. The fire department supports us really well with that. They bring the fire truck out. Any kid can come out, bring their bikes and any kid-powered equipment. They bring them out scooters, bikes, their shoes, whatever. But they just put on their own little parade from Mont Harmon up to the park.” He added, “It’s always a sight.”

The main draw of International Days is always the Grand Parade, which takes place on Saturday, July 26 at 10 a.m. down Price Main Street. “I have to thank Megan Marshall. She has that all handled under control,” shared Richardson. “It’s just a good time, and the community supports it well. It’s just fun.”

On the nights of July 24 and 25, the city will present an ‘Under the Stars’ movie in the park. “There were a lot of nominations. I want to make that clear,” said Richardson. “We had so many that the committee looked at every nomination, and then we thought, you know what? Let’s not do a brand-new movie. People have seen it all in the theater. Let’s do an old one that we haven’t seen and that kids still love.”

To achieve this, on Friday, July 24, the city will be showing ‘Shrek’. Following this on Saturday, July 25, will be the 1980s classic ‘The Goonies’.

Both movies will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. in Pioneer Park.

Closing out our conversation, Richardson stated,” It is for everybody. It’s not just for one specific group. There’s tons of food. That’s why I go. A lot of treats. Oh, my word. The frozen bananas, the burritos, the Navajo tacos. There’s something for everybody at International Days. Come and ride the rides at the carnival. Heck, go make yourself sick. There’s something for everybody. And International Days is a way just to come out and meet some people and have a good time.”
