As the Washington Park slate of Culture Connection comes to a close, Price City is bringing back a fan favorite to send the concert series off to its finale at the Helper Arts Festival.

Davey and the Midnights return to the stage on Thursday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m. in Washington Park. Price City Council member Layne Miller joined the KOAL newsroom to preview the show and reflect on the summer series.

“This week, it’s kind of like the Deltaz,” said Miller. “Davey’s been around forever; he’s a professional, played all over, opened for a lot of really famous people. I think we can expect the same kind of good music and a lot of fun.”

Miller also spoke highly of the Washington venue, saying,” What better place to listen to them than in the shade, in the park, outdoors. Couldn’t be better. Good music, good environment.”

Looking back at the Culture Connection season, Miller reflected on the attendance of the events,” If you look at the turnout we’ve had for the popular groups, the Saturday of International Days, just before the drone show, I always try to do an unofficial count. I lost track at 800 people in the park. I mean, if you look, the park was almost full. And by the time the drone show started, it was full, shoulder to shoulder.”

Miller also discussed the public feedback he has received regarding the concerts,” I’ve heard no negative comments. None. And I would hear them. I mean, if somebody had a strong opinion that they wanted to talk about, I’d hear it. I’ve heard just positive from the band members, to the audience, from everybody. It’s been a wonderful season.”

Closing out our conversation, Miller stated,” Thank you, everybody, for supporting us this summer, and we look forward to planning something even bigger and better for next year. That’s our goal.”

Davey and the Midnights take the stage at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, in Washington Park. More information on this and other events is available on priceutah.gov or the city’s Facebook page.
