Kicking off August with a bang, Helper Saturday Vibes takes over Helper’s historic main street on Saturday, Aug. 9, with a country theme. Sydney Ho from the Vibes team joined the KOAL newsroom to preview the event and what is in store for attendees.
Kicking things off for the street festival at 5 p.m. is country/rock hybrid Desert Sage, with Utah-based country singer Mikayla Paige taking over at 7 p.m. “Both bands this Saturday are going to have a country vibe, and it’s going to be fun,” said Ho.
Alongside the music, attendees of Vibes can expect a plethora of food trucks catering to a wide variety of tastes,” This weekend, we have a regular favorite this season, El Sartan, back with their chicken tenders, and a newer one, I want to say, this season, the Nacho Bus that people have been loving … And that large nacho is huge. I think it feeds like a family, and it’s so fun to see people get it.”
Ho continued, discussing this weekend’s specialty margarita,” This weekend, we’ve got the Mi Amor Margarita, a mix of mango, agave, strawberry, our house-made margarita mix with a Tajin topper.”
For the kids, the normal bouncy house and face-painting fare will be available, but to go along with the country theme, the Vibes team has dialed up a special activity allowing children to paint a western-themed rock.
As one of the Castle Country’s premiere weekend activities, Ho provided some encouragement for residents to get out and get involved with Helper Vibes: “Come for the vibes. One of my favorite things when I was just a vibes attender was that I didn’t even have to stay for the whole time. I could come and have a good time for 15 minutes and then go home. You know, come as you please, come as you are.”
Closing our conversation, Ho thanked some of the local sponsors who make Helper Saturday Vibes possible,” Just a huge thank you to some of our sponsors, Stay Helper and Vintage Motor Co. As well as Balance Rock, Happiness Within and R & A Market. Some of our favorite local Helper sponsors have been huge this year, and we really appreciate them.”
Helper Saturday Vibes will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, beginning at 5 p.m. on Helper’s Historic Main Street. For more information, you can visit Helper Vibes’ Facebook page or website.
