
After a shootout loss to start the season, the Lady Dino soccer team traveled to Ogden to face the St. Joseph Jayhawks on Thursday, taking a big 8-1 win.
On Tuesday, the Uintah Utes came to town, and after a 2-2 tie after regulation, Uintah claimed the 3-2 victory in a shootout.
Carbon wasn’t taking any chances this time around, putting five goals on the scoreboard in the first half to take a 5-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, they would find paydirt three more times, giving up just one goal to take the 8-1 victory and move to 1-1 this season.
Malia Smith was unstoppable in the contest with four goals and a pair of assists for Carbon, bringing her goal total to six in two games this season. Blythe Bradford added a pair of goals and one assist, Bailey Johnson collected one goal with three assists, and Chrissy Jones had a goal and an assist as well. Kenzie Morgan collected an assist in the win.
The Lady Dinos had 14 shots on goal, and between the pipes, Madi Barlow had three saves.
Carbon is back home on Tuesday when they will face Maeser Prep.
