The Lady Spartan soccer squad posted back-to-back wins for the first time in three years with a 3-1 victory over the San Juan Broncos in front of the home crowd Thursday in Castle Dale.

Emery is coming off a big win over Enterprise on Tuesday, 5-2, and that momentum carried them to a win on Thursday.

Playing in front of the home crowd for the first time, the Lady Spartans did not disappoint, coming out in the first half and finding the back of the net twice, all while holding the Broncos scoreless to take a 2-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Emery collected one more goal, giving up one to San Juan, but was able to hold on for the 2-1 victory.

Molly Christiansen collected a goal in the contest, as did Illyria Mason. Megan Stilson added a goal and earned an assist as well, and Daley Stewart had an assist in the win.

Next week, they will jump into region play when they travel to Richfield to face the Wildcats on Wednesday. The game with the Wildcats will mark a long string of road games for the Lady Spartans, as they won’t play a home game again until August 25, when they welcome Parowan to Castle Dale.
