The Carbon Dino cross country squad hit the course on Saturday and turned in a pair of first-place finishes as both the boys and the girls claimed the top spot at the Premier Cross Country Invitational in Millcreek.
The Lady Dinos returned to their winning ways, coming off a 2024 State Championship and landing in first place with a score of 28. Union finished second with 38, and Morgan landed in third with 69.
Rozlyn Stowe claimed first, turning in a time of 17:09, almost two full minutes ahead of Union’s Kaylee Nielsen. Carbon’s Josie Yates claimed third at 19:03.8. Bretlee Kennedy (8th), Alexander Bryner (9th), Kiley Bishoff (10th), Kaylee Pitcher (11th), and McKenzie Fredrickson (13th) rounded out the Lady Dino team.
The Dino boys team finished in first as well with 27 points, and Morgan finished in second with 62. Ogden (66) and Union (78) comprised the rest of the field.
Hunter Horrocks of Union took the top spot with his time of 15:47.9. Michael Weber was Carbon’s top finisher, taking second with a time of 16:26.7. Matthew Stromness (3rd), Dallin Humes (5th), Evan Criddle (6th), Brcken Hanson (11th), Samuel Wilson (12th), and Seth Jenson (15th) made up the remainder of the Carbon squad.
The Dinos will be back on the course on August 23 for the UIAAA at the Spanish Fork Sports Park.
