Carbon golfers took their swings in a new region on Monday, Region 13.  Coming off a third-place finish last season in the State Championships, the Dinos were looking to head back to the links and got their chance at the Cove View Course in Richfield. Union claimed the top spot, shooting a 315, and Carbon was close behind in second with 319.

Gone from the region are Richfield, Canyon View, Delta, and Juab. Carbon will now be a part of a five-team Region 13 that includes Emery, North Sanpete, Manti, and Union.

The Union Cougars wasted no time taking first in the match at Cove View, shooting a 315. Carbon finished in second with 319. Emery took third with a 346, North Sanpete finished fourth shooting a 360, and North Sanpete was fifth with 372.

The Dinos Dayton King shot the low round of the day with a 73, and Levi King was second for Carbon with his 78. Cash Withers and Paxton Falk both tied with 84. Christian Cowan carded an 87, Karsen Gazell an 88, Tristan Cunningham a 93, and Connor Falk a 103  for the Dinos.

Region 13 will shift its sights to the Skyline Mountain Resort in Fairview, the home of the North Sanpete Hawks, on August 19.
