Lady Dino sophomore Malia Smith collected her tenth goal in just the third contest of the season, as Carbon got back on the pitch Tuesday by welcoming the Maeser Preparatory Lions to Price.

Smith is coming off a fantastic freshman campaign where she collected 32 goals and was a major contributor to the Dinos’ 12-6 season.

Carbon jumped out to an early lead in the first half, collecting four goals and holding the Lions off the scoreboard to take a 4-0 lead at halftime.  It was more of the same in the second half as once again, the Lady Dinos found the back of the net four more times, and Madi Barlow in between the pipes kept Maeser off the board, earning the 8-0 shutout.

Mailia Smith collected five goals and an assist for Carbon. Naomi Smith collected one goal and a pair of assists, Saren Nelson and Blythe Bradford each had a goal, with Bradford earning an assist. Bailey Johnson had two assists, and Chrissy Jones and Josie Yates each had one assist in the win.

The Lady Dinos will travel to Grantsville on Thursday to face the Cowboys.
