A line of cars waiting to experience the Tagg-N-Go Car Wash underscored the excitement felt on the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 13, as the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce welcomed the business to the county.
Speaking at the event were Tagg-N-Go founder Quinn Allgood and Conner Atkin. “We started about 10 years ago in southern Utah, and this is number 30,” explained Atkin.
Allgood shared the origin of the business,” We ended up meeting at a local bank, and our stories lined up a lot. We’re from St. George, but our pasts are a lot of the same. We both lost our fathers at a young age … and so we quickly bonded about that e xperience. Both of our fathers were entrepreneurs, and so that was a big part of who we were.”
He continued,” At that time, working at the bank, we were both looking for something to do, and we came across an old, rundown self-serve car wash. And we said ‘Hey, why don’t we give this a try?”
Ten years and 29 car washes later, that simple leap of faith has expanded into one of Utah’s premier car washes. “We thought we were going to end up with one or maybe two car washes,” said Atkin. “So when I say that we’re at 30 now, the reason we found is the community and the employees. We know that the community is huge, we know that customers are huge, so we want to be a part of the community.”
Speaking to Castle Country Radio, Allgood spoke on what excites him most about being in Price,” We’re just so excited to be a part of the community every single time we open up the location, like that’s honestly how we can make an impact, you know, and so it’s not necessarily about the number of locations that we open. It’s more about the impact that we can make, whether we can provide new jobs where we can do more fundraising and help out local communities.”
He continued,” It all comes back to the personal impact we can make. I think about the community aspect of things, and it relies on if we take care of our team, our team will take care of the customers and our customers will take care of us.”
Following the pair’s remarks, the ribbon was cut, officially welcoming Tagg-N-Go to the Castle Country.
To help promote the opening, Tagg-N-Go will be providing 10 days of free car washes to anyone who visits the new location. The business is also holding a special deal on one month of unlimited car washes for $10.
