Pinnalce Panther volleyball ended last week with a pair of home games against American Prep West Valley and Wendover. Against American Prep in a match that would go the distance, Pinnalce would fall 3-2. In the second match on Friday, they faced the Wendover Wildcats and made quick work of them, 3-0.

The Panthers are 3-3 this season and only have a pair of games left before region play begins on September 2, when they welcome the Monticello Buckaroo to Price.

In Thursday’s match-up with American Prep West Valley, the Panthers found themselves in a battle that would go five sets, with the Eagles taking the 3-2 win.

The first set was all about Pinnacle setting the tone, and they did so by taking a 25-20 win. American Prep would come out swinging in set number two, turning up the defense to take a 25-14 win. The Lady Panthers came back in the third set to earn a hard-fought 25-23 victory.

American Prep took charge of the final two sets, posting 25-10 and 17-15 wins, respectively.

Putting the match with  American Prep behind them, the Lady Panthers turned their focus to the Wendover Wildcats on Friday. The last couple of sets were contentious, but Pinnacle was able to hold on to get the 3-0 win.

In set number one, Pinnacle took a quick 25-14 victory; the following two sets would not be as easy.

Set number two was a battle back-and-forth with Pinnacle coming away with the 25-22 win. The third and final set was a wild one, with both teams wanting the win and the Panthers earning the 35-33 victory.

Pinnacle will travel to face the Dugway Mustangs on Tuesday.
