
Lady Dino soccer traveled to face the Cowboys in Grantsville on Thursday. Carbon jumped out early and took control on their way to a 5-1 win to start the season at 3-1.
Carbon has dropped just one game this season, a 2-2 loss against Uintah that came down to a shootout, but including the game with the Utes, the Dinos have outscored their opponents 23-4.
Carbon got on the board early in the first, finding the back of the net four times to take a 4-1 lead into halftime.
The second half was more slow-paced as Carbon did precisely what they needed to do to get the win, adding one more goal and holding the Cowboys off the board to take a 5-1 win.
Naomi Smith got on the board for the Lady Dinos with two goals and an assist. Malia Smith scored a pair of goals, and Lydia Lancaster scored for the Dinos as well. Chrissy Jones collected two assists while Blythe Bradford and Andrea Sweeney each had one in the Carbon win. The Dinos were very efficient with seven shots on goal, and Madi Barlow in the pipes had seven saves.
Carbon is back on the road Friday when they travel to face the Cedar Reds in Cedar City.
