
The Stansbury Stallions traveled to Price on Tuesday to take on the Lady Dinos. Carbon came out strong, taking the first two sets, but the Stallions would come back and sweep the final three to get the 3-2 win.
Stansbury sits at 2-2 in the 4A ranks, while Carbon slides to 2-3 overall as they continue to make their way through pre-season, and they will jump into region play on September 11, when the Union Cougars come to town.
The Lady Dinos came out attacking in the first set to claim a 25-18 win, and that would continue throughout the second set as Carbon took a 25-15 victory to go up 2-0. Stanbury came alive in set three, earning a 25-15 victory, and then tied things up in set four with a 25-18 win.
In the fifth and deciding set, both sides were looking to close out their opponent, but it was the Stallions that topped Carbon 15-11 to take the match 3-2.
The Lady Dinos will get back on the court on Thursday, when they travel to Vernal to take on the Uintah Utes (5-4).
Next week, they will get started on Tuesday when the Duchesne Eagles come to Price.
