The opening match of the 2025 men’s soccer season for the Utah State University Eastern Eagles Mark, what is expected to be a thrilling season for a group of talented young men.

The team hosted Casper College in a match that needed a late goal by Oliver Palafox to earn a 3-3 draw.

Denaeyer Dean opened the scoring with a goal in the 10th minute, his first of the early season. Casper College responded with a goal of their own two minutes later to even the score at one, and both teams held defensively to end the first half at the same score.

Casper took the lead in the 53rd minute, but things were then tied again by the Eagles in the 68th minute by Davis Bormanis for his first of the season.

Casper would respond just four minutes later before Palafox tied the match in the 77th minute. The two teams attempted to break the tie in the minutes, but no team was able to prevail, ending the match in a 3-3 draw.

Next, the Eagles will travel to Central Wyoming College on August 27 for their next non-conference match-up.
