On Saturday, Aug. 23, a senior missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was killed when a lawn mower he was riding overturned.
Elder Brent Blackburn, age 68, was a member of the Helper Utah stake and serving a mission at the Church’s Adam-ondi-Ahman historic site alongside his wife, Sister Carolyn Blackburn.
According to the Church, the incident occurred on Saturday, when Blackburn was operating a riding mower on a side hill at the historic site near Gallatin, Missouri. The Church stated that while mowing the side hill, the mower overturned.
In a press release from the Church, the organization states,” Our condolences and prayers are with Sister Blackburn and their family at this difficult time. We pray that all who are affected by this will feel the peace and comfort of our loving Heavenly Father as they honor the life and faithful service of Elder Blackburn.”
The Blackburns had been serving at the Adam-ondi-Ahman historic site since April of this year.
