The Spartan golfers worked through the wind and rain on Wednesday at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course as the Dinos hosted their lone Region 13 match of the season. The Union Cougars earned the top finish of the day, with the Spartans finishing in third.

Union shot an impressive 295 with five of their eight golfers shooting in the 70s. Carbon was seven strokes off the pace with a 302, and Emery claimed third with a 323. North Sanpete (356) and Manti (377) comprised the rest of the field.  Stetson Willis of Union had the low round with a 71

Champ Justice led the way for Emery by shooting a 77, Bronx Olsen and Brendon Behunin both carded an 82. Peyton Nielson rounded out the scoring four for the Spartans, shooting an 83. Easton Stoker (89), Owen Blackham (92), Crew Behling (97), and Walker Hiatt (111) also competed for the Spartans.

Emery and the rest of Region 13 will now take an extended break with no match scheduled next week.

They head back on Tuesday, September 9, when they will travel to the course at Palisades State Park, the home course of the Manti Templars.
