Coming off a loss to Altamont, the Lady Pirates volleyball team welcomed the DeBeque Dragons, a team from Colorado. The Dragons claimed wins in the first two sets, but Green River turned it on to take three straight, winning 3-2.

Last Friday, the Altamont Longhorns made their way to Green River, taking a 3-1 win. The Pirates sit at 2-2 overall with the win, and will start region play on Friday when they welcome Whitehorse to town.

The Dragons jumped out in the first two sets, earning 25-22 and 26-24 wins respectively. That was enough for the Pirates as they would go on a tear, winning the following three sets 25-19, 25-13, and 15-11 to take a 3-2 win against DeBeque.

Rosa Barragan collected 24 digs and four assists for the Pirates. Jessica Norman had 10 kills and eight digs, and Elizabeth Argomaniz had eight kills and eight digs. Nora Barragan had 19 digs, and Brailie Parsons had 16 digs in the win.

Green River will go back on the road on Thursday as they travel to Dugway to face the Mustangs.

The Lady Pirates will return home to face the Whitehorse Raiders on Friday as they kick off region play. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m.
