Our loving mom and grandma, Henrietta Hansen, returned to her Heavenly Father on September 4, 2025. The embrace from her loving husband, parents, siblings, and baby boy must have been beautiful as she was reunited with those she loved. Although a joyous reunion, she will be greatly missed here on Earth.

Henrietta was born on November 29, 1931 in Lawrence, Utah to Lourtiz and Christina McArthur Hansen. She was the youngest of nine children. Growing up in Lawrence, Henrietta had an adventurous childhood. Many stories were told of the horse rides to and from the farm in Buffalo, late nights around the bonfires, and living the good life in Lawrence. Henrietta was happy, the life of the party, and the heart of life to all of us.

On January 3, 1953, Henrietta married the love of her life, a veteran from the Korean War, Darold Hansen. The love that they shared was truly treasured. The two became one, working hand in hand together, every day of their lives. They were blessed with five children, JoAnn, Darold Lee, Kirk, Lori, and Hans. Henrietta fulfilled her job as a mother better than anyone; she was the perfect example of motherhood. Her love of family ran deep. This love was instilled within her children; this love that each one of us hold dear. She raised her children in Elmo, among the entire Hansen clan, and would not have it any other way.

Henrietta took pride in working hard. Of course, the work didn’t start before she sat down with her family enjoying a hot cup of coffee. Then she was off with her day, never a minute to waste, never a chore left undone. You would find her at the farm with the sheep and bummer calves, in the kitchen baking bread and a delicious meal, cleaning her already spotless house, driving the bus, growing a spectacular garden, in Mesquite at the slot machines, cheering grandkids at all of their events, yelling louder than the kids on the rides at Lagoon, on Cedar Mountain riding her horse, camping at Scad Valley, sewing, canning, quilting, or crafting. Needless to say, her motto of ¨live it up¨ was exemplified in the way she chose to live her life.

Henrietta created our heaven on earth, our safe place. Being with her was an escape from the world, a breath of fresh air away from worries and stress. The moment you walked in her front door or sat on her front porch, you became the most important person in the world. There were no distractions and nothing mattered more to her at that moment in time than listening to you. A visit with Grandma was medicine for your soul, filling your mind with perspective what matters most: family. It was being with her that taught us what life is all about.

Grandma led a simple life; she was blessed with the knowledge of finding true happiness, which included family, traditions, work hard for what you have, be humble, and be kind. Simple, yet a life fulfilled.

Henrietta is survived by her children, JoAnn Jeffs, Kirk (Nancy) Hansen, Lori Brady, and Hans Hansen; loving grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Colleen Hansen and Verda Minchey.

Preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Darold Lee Hansen; sons-in-law, Jay Jeffs and Ben Brady; and sisters, Oral Miles, Bernice Winters, Lavora Kofford, Zelda Collins, Merlin Bishop, Shirley Robertson; brothers; Mac Hansen, Richard Hansen; sisters-in-law, Georgenia Hansen, Leora Hansen, Reba Hansen, and Arlene Hansen; brothers-in-law, Arvel Hansen, Aron Hansen, Glen Hansen, Marvin Hansen, Mark Minchey, Milton Miles, Pat Winters, Clyde Kofford, Lee Collins, Lamar Bishop, and Ronnie Robertson.
