The final month of the Helper Saturday Vibes season has arrived. The premier street fest in the Castle Country, Vibes has just two more events before closing for the season. These final events intend to bring the heat, kicking off on Saturday, Sept. 13, when Helper Vibes celebrates the energy industry.
Sydney Ho from the Vibes team joined the KOAL newsroom to preview the event, sharing what’s happening in Helper.
“We definitely appreciate the energy workers in our area,” said Ho of the theme. “We wanted to make sure that with us having many new themes this year, we did something to recognize them.”
As always, Saturday Vibes kicks things off at 5 p.m. on Helper’s historic Main Street, this week bringing the musical talents of experimental group Supper Time. “Supper Time is actually our regular sound guy, Sam’s, band. And we are very excited to have him on the stage, a little bit more nervous about what happens behind the sound booth because it’ll be a little bit of a different week for us, but we know Sam’s gonna kill it up there.”
At 8 p.m., the vibe shifts when the Gina Marie Osmond Band takes the stage,” You can’t go wrong with an Osmond band in Utah,” joked Ho.”
A plethora of vendors will be available as well for attendees to enjoy. “El Sartan, definitely a crowd favorite, will be back this weekend. We have a barbecue stand coming this weekend, Hunts Texas barbecue, that’s new for vibes and Wicked Kitchen Creations is bringing back their pancakes that we all love,” explained Ho.
Bar Manager Shayla Olson is also back at it again, crafting a new specialty margarita sure to blow attendees away. “We’ve got a hibiscus spritz margarita coming your way. It’s a little bit lighter, a little bit fresher. It’ll have a hibiscus flower on top with our house-made margarita mix, Sprite or club soda, and lime.”
Closing our conversation, Ho gave a shoutout to some of the local sponsors of Helper Vibes. “Thank you to our sponsors, as always. iGotPoop.com is a fun one. Utah State University Eastern and the Helper Project. We really couldn’t do it without our sponsors.”
