The Spartan cross country team traveled to North Sanpete along with teams from around the state to participate in the North Sanpete Classic. Even though the Lady Spartans did not have enough runners to place, Gentry Christiansen finished the race in third place out of 112 runners in the girls’ division.

For the girls, American Fork took the top spot, with Viewmont finishing in second. Maple Mountain, Mountain Ridge, and North Summit rounded out the top five. Emery only had four runners, so they didn’t qualify for team placement.

Christiansen finished in third overall. Addie Hurst ended her day in 19th place. Hannah Farley finished 63rd and Hadley Meccariello 94th out of 112 runners.

As for the boys’ division, it was Maple Mountain in first, and Viewmont finished second. Mountain Ridge, Tooele, and Carbon rounded out the top five. Emery finished in 12th place out of 16 teams.

Zander Robinson was the top finisher for the Spartans, coming in 63rd. Ty Christiansen (74), Daxton Larsen (77), Landon Braun (83), Benjamin Farley (92), Luke Jensen (95, and Porter Stilson (96) competed against 112 runners.

Next up for the Spartans is the Carbon Invitational on September 17 at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course.
