
The Lady Dinos continue to lead the way in Region 13 after Thursday’s contest with the Union Cougars. Carbon found the back of the net twice in the first half and then six more times in the second half, to take an 8-0 win and move to 11-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play to lead the region.
The Lady Dinos sit atop the region standings as they have now almost hit the halfway mark in league play. After next week’s game with North Sanpete, they have played all Region 13 opponents once. In the latest rankings, they sit at No. 2 behind the Ogden Tigers.
The Dinos opened things up in the first half to take a 2-0 lead at halftime. Coming out in the second half, the Lady Dinos opened up their offense, finding the back of the net six times and holding the Cougars off the scoreboard to earn an 8-0 win.
For the Lady Dinos, Bailey Johnson earned a hat trick, scoring three goals and earning a pair of assists. Malia Smith collected two goals and an assist. Andrea Swasey, Chrissy Jones, and Blythe Bradford all had one goal, with Jones and Bradford collecting assists. Naomi Smith added two assists, and Kayla Jones had one in the Carbon rout. Madi Barlow had one save in the shutout.
Coming up next for Carbon on September 18, the Lady Dinos travel to Mount Pleasant to face the North Sanpete Hawks.
