Young athletes from across the community came together for a fun and active day at the Kids Triathlon hosted by Miss Emery Teen Hallie Frandsen. Taking place at the Emery Aquatic Center, the event saw participants running, biking and swimming, with the swim ending with a trip down the waterslide.

The triathlon served as a fundraiser for Frandsen’s community service initiative, ‘Join the Movement: Get up and Get Active. ‘ All proceeds from the event will go toward helping youth who need financial support to participate in sports and recreational activities.

“This event was more than just a fun day for the kids,” said Frandsen. “It was about giving back to our community and helping more children have the chance to play and compete, regardless of their financial situation.”

Participants were divided into three age groups: Kindergarten – second grade, third – fifth grade and sixth – eighth grade.

Winners in each age group were:

  • Kindergarten – second: Skyler Hansen
  • Third – fifth: Blake Hansen
  • Sixth – eighth: Pratt Jensen

Volunteers were stationed throughout the course to ensure a safe and smooth event. Parents and spectators also got involved, lining the route and cheering on the racers.

“The support I received from volunteers, families, and the community made all the difference,” Frandsen said. “The kids had a great time, and it was rewarding to know the event also helps other kids get opportunities in sports.”
