Monna Huntington Jensen, 90, passed away on September 12, 2025. She was born in Castle Dale, Utah on July 15, 1935, to Grant Orlo Huntington and Donna Snow. She graduated from South Emery High School in May of 1953 and married Valdon Dee Jensen, on her birthday two months later, in the Manti Utah Temple.
Val and Monna made their home in Huntington, Utah for 53 years. Monna was well known in her community and in Emery County due to her active service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many Ward and Stake callings in her life.
She was also known, and revered, in Emery County and much of Carbon County due to her employment at the Castle Valley Center in Price. After raising her boys, she worked as a teacher’s aide for Bill Jensen. She and Bill would pick up the special needs students in Emery County and bus them to the school in Price, teach them all day, then bus them back home. Mom had a special bond with these students. They loved her dearly.
She was also well known because of our family-owned farm machinery business. She was the bookkeeper for Jensen’s Equipment for several years.
Mom’s greatest joy in her life was her family. We were privileged to have a mother at home when we got home from school. Mom was the best listener. We could all say that she was our best friend while growing up.
Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren brought her so much joy. And they think grandma is the bestest grandma ever.
Monna is survived by her six sons and their spouses; 61 grandchildren; 75+ great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Val & Monna’s sons and their spouses are Chris and Bonnie Jensen, David and Patty Jensen, Scott and Gaedene Jensen, Calvin and Kim Jensen, Paul and Tanya Jensen, and Lane and Lilly Jensen.
