
The Dino cross country squad made the trip to Taylorsville Saturday to take part in the Border Wars meet. Schools from around the state participated in more than 14 divisions in races throughout the day. Rozlyn Stowe grabbed another first-place finish for the Lady Dinos, and Even Criddle was the highest finisher for Carbon in the boys’ division.
The Lady Dinos only took two runners, so they were unable to place in the team event, but Stowe claimed first with her time of 17:03.01, seven seconds ahead of Maddie Reeder of Highland. Josie Yates finished in 42nd place out of 172 runners for the Lady Dinos.
In the boys’ division, Westlake finished in first, followed by Davis in second. Mountain View, Orem, and Lehi rounded out the top five. Carbon would finish in 28th out of 32 teams.
Evan Criddle was the top finisher for the Dinos with his time of 16.26.92, finishing in 117th place. Peter Mecham of Orem took first with a time of 14:50.52.
Michael Weber (134), Dallin Humes (159), Matthew Stromness (173), Bracken Hansen (184), Samuel Wilson (187), and Seth Jenson (193) also competed for Carbon in a field that consisted of 238 runners.
Coming up on Wednesday, the Dinos welcome schools from around the region to the Golf Course at the Carbon County Country Club for the Carbon Invitational.
