Emery welcomed the Union Cougars to the Spartan Center on Thursday evening for a non-region contest.  Emery was coming off a recent loss to Manti and was looking to right the ship, but Union had other ideas and handed the Lady Spartans a straight-set loss.

Emery was coming off a 3-1 loss on the road in Manti on Tuesday, and slides to 6-6 overall with the loss to Union, and is still looking for their first region win of the season, sitting at 0-2. They also hold the No. 12 spot in the latest ranking. The Cougars are 8-9 overall and sit at 2-1 in region play with the No.5 spot in the rankings.

The Lady Spartans stepped on the court Thursday and put their best foot forward with their best effort in set number one, but Union took the 25-14 victory. Set two was all Cougars once again, taking a 25-8 win, and then closed out the Lady Spartans in set three, 25-9.

Eemry will now turn its attention to the Carbon Dinos as they will face them in Castle Dale at the Spartan Center on Tuesday. Carbon will be looking for its first Region 13 win as well.
