Duke was born on September 21, 1977 to Jim (Duke) Johnson and Connie (Bell) Johnson in Price, Utah. He passed away on September 17, 2025, A few days before his 49th birthday. Although he moved from time to time, Price was his home.
Dukie was our mischievous little nomad. He was always on the go and loved to stay busy. He had many talents and interests. He loved to draw, wood whittling, working on cars, music, and just staying busy. There wasn’t a problem that he wasn’t ready to try and fix.
Dukie was always there for anyone who called on him, he loved everyone in his life and never wanted to shut anyone out. He loved to tease people and joke around. He always found a way to make you laugh even if you didn’t think you could at the time. He married Jessica Schmidt, and even though they separated, they remained close because that’s the person Duke was. He found the good in everyone and never looked down on any flaws.
Duke sometimes chose a rough path and it landed him into trouble from time to time but he was always optimistic, and never gave up. He always had a plan and always fought to see it through. That’s why everyone who got to know him, loved him.
He will be deeply missed, and forever loved.
Duke is preceded in death by his mom and grandparents, who are watching over us now.
He is survived by his dad, Duke Johnson; step-mom, Niki (McLaughlin) Johnson; sister, Jennifer Johnson; brother, JB Johnson; sister-in-law, Ashley (Madrigal) Johnson; brother, Shaun Bell; sister-in-law, Kris Bell.
