The boy’s golf season is winding down with just a couple of matches left before region tournaments and the State Championship, and the Dinos have been close to the top of the leaderboard all season. On Tuesday, they were in Roosevelt to take on the Roosevelt Golf Course, home to the Union Cougars. Union finished atop the leaderboard with a 304, and Carbon shot a 312 for second place.

The Union Cougars have been sitting in first place at every match this season, and it didn’t change at Dinaland. The Dinos were eight strokes off the pace to take second. Emery (325), North Sanpete (350), and Manti (376) rounded out the top five. Stetson Wills of Union had the low round of 70.

Dayton King led the way for the Dinos, shooting a 75, and Levi King was close behind, shooting a 76. Cash Withers, 77, and Paxton Falk, 84, rounded out the top four for the Dinos. Tristen Cunningham (85), Case Barker (92), Karsen Gazell (94), and Christian Cowan (95) took part in the match for the Dinos as well.

The Dinos will stay in the basin for the final regular season match of the season when they play the Dinaland Golf Course in Vernal on Wednesday.

The Region 13 Championships will take place on September 29 at the Stansbury Park course. The following week, on October 8 & 9, the State Championships will also be held at Stansbury Park.
