
The Carbon golf team took on the Dinaland Golf Course on Wednesday in Vernal, closing out the regular season. The match was initially scheduled to take place at the Roosevelt Golf Course, but it was later changed to a different venue. Union came away with the top spot, followed by the Dinos in second.
Initially, the matches on Wednesday were supposed to be played at the Roosevelt Golf Course, but the location was swapped. As a result, Tuesday’s matches, which were scheduled to be played at Dinaland, were moved to Wednesday, and on Tuesday, the region played at the Roosevelt course.
Union shot a 292 as a team to earn first place. Carbon was a close second, just seven strokes off the pace with a 299. Emery (324), North Sanpete (344), and Manti (368) rounded out the top five.
Carbon’s Levi King scored the low round of the day with a 67. Dayton King shot a 76, Paxton Falk a 77, and Cash Withers a 77 to round out the scoring for the Dinos. Tristen Cunningham (92), Karsen Gazell (94), and Case Baker (97) made up the remainder of the Dino team.
The Dinos will now take part in the Region Championship at Stansbury Park on Monday.
