
Pinnacle and Green River squared off for the final time in the regular season in Price on Wednesday, kicking off a busy weekend for both squads. Pinnacle earned the 3-1 win over Green River, and then both teams faced off with Monument Valley on Friday and Saturday.
On Wednesday, the competition was tough as both teams went back and forth, and Pinnacle won the first two sets 25-19 and 29-27. The Lady Pirates came back in the third to take a 25-19 win of their own and force a fourth set. The fourth went the distance and then some with the Lady Panthers coming away with a 26-24 win, to close out Green River 3-1.
Jazmyne Mullis had nine kills, four blocks, and four assists for Pinnacle. Brooklyn Larsen had 10 digs and five assists, Xylee Perry collected 11 digs and five assists, and Sabre Craig had five kills and a pair of blocks in the win.
Following the win over Green River, the Panthers faced Monument Valley and were handed a straight set loss, 3-0.
The Pirates also faced the Monument Valley Cougars and were handed a straight-set loss, 3-0.
Pinnacle slides to 7-8 overall and 1-4 in region play. They also sit in the No. 17 spot in the latest rankings. They will travel to face Monument Valley on October 2.
Green River sits at 4-8 and 1-4 in region play and the No. 18 spot. They will travel to Monticello on September 30 to face the Buckaroo.
