The Lady Dinos soccer team stayed unbeaten in Region 13 play after a hard-fought 3-1 win over the Manti Templars on the road Thursday.  With the season winding down, Carbon has only two games left on its schedule before the playoffs start on October 15.

Carbon sits at 14-2 overall and 6-0 in region play, holding onto the No. 2 spot in the latest rankings. On October 11, the bracket for the State Championships will be released, with the first round starting on October 15.

Carbon and Manti came out in the first half and played all square, taking a 1-1 tie into halftime. In the second half, the Lady Dinos tightened up and held the Templars off the board but scored a pair of goals of their own to close out Manti and take a 3-1 win.

Saren Nelson, Chrissy Jones, and Naomi Smith all scored goals for Carbon. Andrera Swasey, Malia Smith, and Blythe Bradford all collected assists in the win. Madi Barlow earned nine saves in goal as well for the Lady Dinos.

Carbon has a pair of games remaining in the regular season. On Tuesday, they travel to Roosevelt to take on the Union Cougars.

Then coming up next Tuesday, October 7, the Lady Dions close out the regular season at home on “Senior Night when they welcome the North Sanpete Hawks to Price.
