A yearslong journey for Ashley Vincent and Color Carbon County came to a head on Friday, Sept. 26, as the nonprofit officially released its new Price/Wellington coloring book. To celebrate the occasion, the organization partnered with the Coyote’s Well Coffee Shop to host a release party for the book.
“It felt like for a while there I wasn’t going to be able to release it when I wanted to,” said Vincent at the event. “It’s just really fun that it’s together, and it’s finally out.”
Attendees packed the lot surrounding the Coyote’s Well – including some of Carbon County’s very own royalty – to enjoy coloring pages, a piñata and community.
Discussing the support she feels from the Castle Country, Vincent shared, “I would say that the Helper coloring book did really well, and that was really exciting. But just from the get-go, the Price one has just blown up. Everybody’s been super excited about it. It’s been really fun to have people come up to me just in public and be excited for it to come out.”
The book features local landmarks and businesses from around the Price/Wellington area. This includes stops by Price Chapel, Peczuh Printing, Woodward Law and Castle Country Radio.
“I feel like professionally I’ve made really strong connections through these coloring books,” said Vincent of the work to connect with the businesses featured in the book. “And if I need anything, there’s always somebody there that’s willing to help.”
Even with the release of the new coloring book, Vincent is already looking ahead to the future of Color Carbon County: “I just bought a trailer, a camper, and we are going to be fixing it up. And hopefully next summer, we’ll have it ready to go out to local events, and we’ll do pop-up art classes.”
More information on Color Carbon County is available online through the organization’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Copies of the coloring book and children’s book are available online through Etsy, with the book soon to be available at Bookcliff Workwear.
