
Emery cross-country traveled to Roosevelt on Wednesday to take part in the Union Invitational. The Lady Spartans took only four runners, making them ineligible for team scores; however, three of the four earned top-ten finishes. The boys’ team earned a fifth-place overall finish.
Carbon took the top spot in the boys’ division, followed by host Union in second. Uintah, North Sevier, and Emery rounded out the top five among the nine schools.
Zander Robinson was the top finisher for the Spartan boys in ninth. Ty Christiansen (26), Landon Braun (27), Daxton Larsen (29), and Ryder Christiansen (40) made up the top five for Emery. Porter Stilson (41) and Luke Jensen (49) also competed in the event.
The Lady Spartans only had four runners, and three of them, Gentry Christiansen, Addyson Guymon, and Addie Hurst, all finished in the top ten. Hannah Farley landed in 21.
The next event on the Spartans’ schedule is the Region 13 Championships, scheduled for October 15 at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course.
