Over the weekend, while residents of Emery County were out enjoying the cool fall weather, the Emery County Sheriff’s Office was hard at work, seizing 40 one-pound bags of methamphetamine during a traffic stop.
“Over the weekend, while some of you were on the mountain hunting, Deputy Dak and Deputy (Egan) Smith were doing a little hunting of their own,” reads a social media post from Emery County Sheriff Tyson Huntington. “During a vehicle search, they located 40 one-pound packages of methamphetamine.”
Speaking to Castle Country Radio, Huntington spoke of the dedication of the ECSO deputies,” I would just like to say how lucky we are to have deputies who have put in the work to be better at their jobs. They all want more training, and they put themselves in very difficult situations to achieve their goals.”
Continued the sheriff,” This seizure is a great example of hard work, but it doesn’t end with Deputy Dak and Smith. They are two of a group of 39 deputies and civilian employees who put in the work day in and day out. I am very grateful.”
One arrest was made in connection with the seizure; the case is currently under active investigation.
