The Carbon golf squad began play in the 3A State Championships at Stansbury Park. After day one, Richfield sits in the top spot with a 289, Carbon shot a 313, putting them in fifth.  Individually, Dayton King sits in eighth with a 74.

Juab was six strokes off the lead, landing in second with 295. Morgan (301), Union (305), and Carbon’s 313 round out the top five. Logan, Ogden, Delta, North Sanpete, and Emery make up the bottom half of the top ten, with 15 schools competing.

There is currently a three-way tie for first in individual competition with Richfield’s Max Albrecht, Juab’s Denver Douglas, and Richfield’s Jorgen Southwick, who all shot an opening round 69.

Levi King was two strokes off of Dayton King, shooting a 76; Paxton Falk shot an 80, and Cash Withers shot an 82, making up the scoring four of the Dinos. Tristan Cunningham (85) and Karsen Gazell (90) missed the cut for Carbon.

The Championships conclude today with team and individual champions being crowned.
