
The Lady Spartans claimed a second-place finish at the Region 13 Cross Country Championships on Wednesday at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course. Addyson Guymon finished in second place, and Gentry Christiansen finished third, while Zander Robinson was the top finisher for the Spartan boys in 19th.
The Lady Dinos finished in first place with 41 points, and the Lady Spartans were close behind in second with 43. Union, Manti, and North Sanpete made up the rest of the field.
Addyson Guymon finished in second place, turning in her time of 17:50.7, just seconds off the pace of Carbon’s Rozlyn Stowe. Gentry Christiansen finished third, Addie Hurst finished sixth, and Skylee Guymon earned a seventh-place finish. Alivia Daley (25) and Hannah Farley (28) also competed for the Lady Spartans.
Carbon also claimed first place in the boys’ division, followed by Manti. Union, North Sanpete, and Emery comprised the rest of the field.
Zander Robinson was the top finisher, coming in 19th place. Ty Christiansen (22), Daxton Larsen (26), Landon Braun (29), Ryder Christiansen (32), Porter Stilson (34), and Luke Jensen (35) all competed in the Region Championships.
The Spartans will have a bit of a breather until the State Championships, which take place on October 29 at Sugarhouse Park.
