Southeast Utah Health Department News Release
The Southeast Utah Health Department has installed a vape disposal drop box at its Price location. This drop box provides the public with a free way to discard used vaping devices.
Vaping products are harmful to personal health. They also pose serious environmental risks because they often contain lithium-ion batteries, heavy metals, and nicotine. These substances can contaminate water and soil, threaten wildlife, and increase the risk of fires in waste management facilities. In the United States, nearly five vapes are thrown away every second, polluting the environment with both electronic and plastic waste.
There are limited recycling options for vape waste. This new vape disposal box offers a necessary solution for proper disposal. We encourage everyone to use this resource to help protect Southeast Utah’s public health and the environment.
The drop box is available 24/7 and is free of charge. You can discard your vape outside the Southeast Utah Health Department Community Health building at 65 South 100 East in Price.
