The Emery Lady Spartans volleyball squad’s season came to an end at the 3A State Championships in Orem on Monday. Dropping into the consolation bracket after a loss to Canyon View in the opening round, Emery faced the No. 10 Layton Christian Eagles, and after winning set one, Emery struggled to find answers for the Eagles, falling in three sets 2-1.

In their opening match, Emery took on the No. 2-ranked Canyon View Falcons. Canyon View took the match in straight sets- 25-14, 25-12, and 25-12.  Their opponent. Layton Christian fell to the No. 7 Richfield Wildcats 3-1.

The Lady Spartans jumped out in the first set and didn’t look back, taking a 25-18 win.  In the second set, Emery seemed to back off their intensity from the first set, as they lost set two 25-14. The third set looked like a battle as both teams sought the win to keep their seasons going, but the Eagles got the edge, taking the 25-21 win and closing out the Lady Spartans 2-1.

This marks the end of the season for the Lady Spartans, who finish with a 9-19 overall mark and 2-6 in Region 13 play and close out the 2025 campaign in the No. 15 spot in the final rankings.
