
The Emery swim squad traveled to Roosevelt to face Union and Uintah in a three-team meet. This was just the second meet of the season for the Spartans as they prepare for the months of competition ahead.
The Lady Spartan swimmers claimed three top-three finishes in the relays that they took part in. In the 200 free, the team of Jessie Childs, Hallie Frandsen, Illyria Mason, and Brooklyn O’Neil earned a first-place finish with a time of 1:51.95, just under ten seconds ahead of the second-place Union. The same team would finish third in the 200 medley relay. Grace Allen, Annie Johansen, Sydni Lake, and Kate Bell claimed a third-place finish in the 400 medley relay.
Individually, Johansen claimed the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke with her time of 1:17.90. She went on to claim a second-place finish in the 200 free and a third-place finish in the 100 fly. Frandsen earned a first-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 1:11.45 and finished third in the 50 free. Allen also finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke.
On the boys’ side of the pool, the Spartans claim three more top-three finishes. Thomas Black, Jamison Christiansen, Tyler Daley, and Trek Petersen swam to a first-place finish with their time of 1:37.15. In the 200 medley, Black, Christiansen, Petersen, and Reve Mason claimed a second-place finish. In the 400 medley, Brekker Bunnell, Tyler Daley, Kamron Hanson, andMason finished in third.
Mason earned an individual second-place finish in the 500 free. Daley claimed a pair of third-place finishes in the 50 free and the 100 free. Black took third in the 200 free, and Petersen went third in the 100-yard backstroke.
Tuesday, the Spartans will welcome North Sanpete and Delta to the pool in Castle Dale.
